Put-in-Bay Cardboard Boat Races

The annual cardboard boat races event, part of Pyrate Fest 2013, will take place beginning at 4:30 pm on Monday, 1 July 2013.  Beware, pirates will roam the streets between 4:30 and 7:30 pm!

4:30 – 5:30 pm     Public display and inspections, followed by a People’s Choice Award

5:30 pm     Mandatory Captain’s Meeting at Bayview Boat Ramp across from DeRivera Park

6 pm     Race Start

DSCN1669Master shipwright Larry Herold, of Billy’s Cardboard Connections, LLC, is seen making incremental modifications in the replica Niagara rigging.  Mr. Herold reports almost 25 hours of engineering have been invested in this contender.
