David E. Garrett, of Springfield, Ohio, shared a most special piece of history with the public during the Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial held at Put-in-Bay. As reported in the Springfield News-Sun, a painting found by Mr. Garrett in 1968 may be an historically significant artifact. On Wednesday, 11 September 2013, Mr. Garrett left South Bass Island with the work of art which had been on display at the Perry Victory Center. He is taking it to Michigan for professional analysis.
