On Tuesday afternoon, 29 October 2013, the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded to an emergency call in the Conlan Road neighborhood of South Bass Island. Firefighters and equipment arrived quickly and with plenty of manpower. Doug Wilhelm reports, “Today I fought my third career structure fire; I’ve never had more of an adrenaline rush. Thankfully the house was saved and none of my brothers were injured!” Mark Wilhelm stated, “I am glad my son was here today to help out. It sure could of been a whole lot worse if the people next door weren’t home! Great job PIBVFD!” The VFD was assisted by the Put-in-Bay EMS. In respect for the owners of the home, photos of the structure are not being posted. Click on any image below for a larger view.
