“Winds, waves, and thunder, oh my!” appears to be the catch-phrase of the day on South Bass Island. The National Weather Service forecast discussion includes the remark, “Hold on to your hat Halloween.” The 4:27 am official NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook states,
“GUSTY WINDS AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT WILL OCCUR THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. WINDS COULD GUST AS HIGH AS 40 MPH ACROSS THE AREA AND COULD CAUSE OBJECTS NOT SECURED TO BE BLOWN AROUND. THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT EITHER A WIND ADVISORY OR HIGH WIND WATCH COULD BE ISSUED FOR THURSDAY INTO THURSDAY NIGHT.”
Tipper’s Restaurant released this bulletin at 10:25 am: “Due to the weather tomorrow Trick or Treat has been moved to Sunday. Tipper’s Halloween party has also been changed to Sunday from 5-9.”
