Three beautiful performances of “Livin’ de Life” concluded on Saturday night at the Put-in-Bay Town Hall Opera House. Patrick Myers, director of this year’s Junior Dramatic Society’s performance, explained, “The story of the animals that live in the briar patch is very old. The episodes were collected for ‘historical preservation’ by Joel Chandler Harris in a book called Animal Stories in 1880.” The audience came away with a refreshing look at the significance of old stories in our daily lives. As Mr. Myers put it, “We take a journey to enjoy a slice of ‘folktale pie,’ southern style, without the worries of electronic interruption.”
