Free-lance Photographer Focuses on Senior Citizens

Ty Wright photographerTy Wright, of ty wright photography, has spent the last week on South Bass Island.  A second-year student of photojournalism at Ohio University, Mr. Wright is preparing  a feature article for AARP, “a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that helps people 50 and older improve the quality of their lives,” as stated in their Web magazine.

Mr. Wright observed and captured Euchre Night at Tipper’s Restaurant, interviewed islanders, attended church at St. Paul’s Episcopal, and welcomed personal island histories wherever he visited.  His lively and enthusiastic demeanor generated a friendly response from those with whom he met.

Mr. Wright employs a Nikon D700 and fixed focal-length lenses in his work.  His photos have appeared in national media, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and TIME.
