Put-in-Bay harbor, completely blocked by ice, home to a few ice shanties, and enveloped by winter serenity, will become an active arena sometime early this week. As reported by the Ninth Coast Guard District External Affairs Office, a tug is expected to pick up a barge currently at Put-in-Bay in order to transport the cribs used in dock refurbishment. Much discussion has taken place since the original ice-breaker was to arrive back in January. At this point in time, island residents seem to favor a rapid completion of the project so summer boating and Bass Island vacations will continue as scheduled. Movement of the Tug “Ohio” can be tracked at Marine Traffic.
