Central Ohio Symphony Brass and Percussion Ensemble to Perform for Put-In-Bay Freedom Concert
The Central Ohio Symphony will bring a new program to the Freedom Concert on Sunday, July 5th at 6 PM, at Perry’s Victory and Peace Memorial Visitor Center. This event is sponsored by the Put-in-Bay Arts Council in partnership with the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce and the National Park Service.
This year the Symphony’s brass and percussion ensemble will be featured in a program of wide musical variety. The Symphony Brass, a group of 18 brass and percussion musicians, will perform classics and patriotic music.
Music Director Morales-Matos, a noted trombonist, will both lead and perform as soloist with the ensemble. In the event of rain, the concert will move inside. Music will include: Fanfare from La Peri, Overture to HMS Pinafore, Russian Sailors’ Dance, Hoagy Carmichael’s Stardust, America the Beautiful, Latino, and more. The concert is free of charge. The Park Service will provide limited seating, so consider bringing a lawn chair or a blanket on which to sit.
