Put-in-Bay School Students Innovate

Put in Bay SchoolPut-in-Bay School showcased one of its outstanding programs during the 17th annual Student Achievement Fair on November 10 at the 2015 Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) Capital Conference and Trade Show. The celebration of learning and achievement highlighted 100 innovative programs at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in downtown Columbus. Put-in-Bay was selected to participate based upon its program’s creativity and positive impact on student achievement. The event offered an opportunity to observe and learn what public school districts in Ohio are doing to enhance learning and achievement in their schools.  Put-in-Bay students included Emil Michael, Hope Cooks, Vivian Price, Alice Lentz, and Macy Ladd (who also featured an outstanding piece of art at the event).  These students programmed a robotic ball, Sphero, to light up and dance to the rhythm of music, paint on paper, foretell the future, and run through a maze.  –Linda Rence
