Miller Ferry Lime Kiln Dock Enhances Customer Service

Put in Bay InformationSafety, smoother traffic flow, aesthetics, and enhanced customer service are the primary goals of the revamp you’ll see underway at the top Miller Ferry Lime Kiln Dock, Put-in-Bay.

An Information Kiosk, open during peak-season hours, conveniently located for visitors to pick up free Put-in-Bay maps and gather ideas on what to do during their island visit,  will also provide free Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce Island Guides, Miller Ferry schedules, and Lake Erie Shores and Island Guides.

“We hope to enhance the traveler’s island experience, whether he or she is a first time guest or a frequent traveler. Face-to-face interaction with Kiosk personnel can help orient our new visitors and provide resources for the most frequently asked questions about Put-in-Bay,”  notes Julene Market. “Most of our guests access their travel information from mobile devices, so the Kiosk personnel will also direct visitors to www.millerferry.com and partner sites for access to coupons, an interactive map, attractions, where to dine, lodging and more.” The Information Kiosk will open Friday, May 27.

Other new features for 2016 include:
* A new Ground Transport staging area across the street on Langram Rd., where Island Transportation buses can  pick up and drop off customers.
*  Island taxi services will now be staged along Langram Rd. for customer pick-up.
* Several new benches and planting area for a place customers can relax.
* New native wildflower garden planted near the Bus staging area, designed and planted by the Put-in-Bay High School Environmental Class and teacher Missi Kowalski.
* Dropping off or picking up your guests at the ferry dock? That remains the same; please use the ten minute parking area the top of the dock.
