With a drastic reduction of daytime temperature, gusty southwest wind, and snow showers, South Bass Island returned to full winter mode on Wednesday. Put-in-Bay, in particular, revealed incredibly low water in the appearance of Alligator Reef between Oak Point and Gibraltar Island. Ice fishers still await a long-term freeze of Lake Erie.
