Islanders got their GROWL on for Put-in-Bay School’s season-opening basketball games at 10:30am Saturday morning. A cheerful aura filled the Jim Poulos Recreation Center as the Put-in-Bay Cheerleaders encouraged the crowd to be R-O-W-D-Y,
and broadcaster Patrick Myers excitedly called the game. The girl Panthers fell to Temple Christian by 28 points, while the boys fought a second-half rally by Ottawa Hills to win 51-52. Dedication and effort were clearly displayed by all the players; the coaches are to be congratulated for their encouragement and leadership.
