Two images captured by Jen Booker, from a flight to the mainland, show ice on Lake Erie between the SBI State Park and the mainland.
Put-in-Bay’s recent below-freezing air temperatures and strong winds have contributed to intricate ice formations along the shoreline. Minor ice floes are also visible on the waters surrounding the Bass Islands. At 3pm the South Bass Island weather station reported 26 knots out of the WNW; the air temperature was 27°F with a wind chill value of 11°F. Photos by Donna Steinbach
