Put-in-Bay Class of 2018 recently journeyed to Hawaii for their senior trip. The small class of four visited two Hawaiian islands, Oahu and Maui, spending a few days on each. Over the past several years, the class raised money through fundraisers to pay for the trip. They were excited to finally head out on their adventure. The three girls, Erin Urge, Gwena Market, and Tatyana Kowalski, as well as the one boy in their class, Justin Wilhelm, left for their flight on March 27, along with their chaperone Mrs. Missi Kowalski.
The five members of the group embarked on an exciting adventure full of new experiences and breathtaking sights. From educational ventures such as the Pearl Harbor expedition, the Byodo-In Buddhist Temple, and the Maui Ocean Center to the thrilling encounters with Hawaiian culture (surf lessons, snorkeling, a traditional luau) the senior Class of 2018 relished the Hawaiian experience of a lifetime. Additionally, hiking up a volcano crater, zip-lining across the mountainside, and exploring the Road to Hana helped make this year’s trip incredibly amazing.
The class would like to thank the community of Put-in-Bay for supporting us throughout the years, and the School Board for allowing us to add this adventure to our archive of school memories. Aloha, and mahalo!
