Put-in-Bay Basketball continued the 2018-19 season on Saturday with the first set of home games at the Jim Poulos Recreation Center. The early game featured the Put-in-Bay School All-Stars competing in a friendly round versus the Ottawa Hills Green Bears fifth-graders. The Panther Boys took on the Green Bears ninth graders with the unfortunate result being a 40-19 loss.
The Panther Girls, fresh off a first place finish at the Great Lakes Island Schools Competition on Beaver Island, boosted their record to 6-0 with a nail-biter game against the Temple Christian girls. Scoring went down to the wire, with incredible shooting by both teams.
The final score was 51-55. Put-in-Bay School Cheerleaders and Lil-Dancers did a superb job of energizing the full-house audience.
WPIB radio broadcaster Patrick Meyers called the game with attention-getting enthusiasm!
Away games for the coming week, but the Panthers return to the home floor on Saturday, 15 December 2018.
