The second weekend in September (7th-8th) features Historic Weekend hosted by the National Park Service at Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial. Don’t miss the Grand Parade, 1812 Re-enactor Village, black powder demonstrations, Military encampment, and–in DeRivera Park–enjoy artisans from the region under one big tent selling unique art and crafts for Art in the Park.
Then on September 14th come enjoy a traditional New England Clam Bake at the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department. Tickets are $30. After enjoying the clambake make your way to the New Years Celebration and Monte Carlo night downtown on Delaware. Try your hand at some great games of chance.
On Saturday morning, September 21st, come run Miller Ferry 5k, Northwest Ohio’s biggest 5k run and walk. Then head over with the family to Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial to celebrate the “International Day of Peace.” At 3pm a merry group of Leprechauns have a parade around DeRivera Park to celebrate Half Way to St. Patty’s Day.
On Tuesday the 24th of September some amazing sports cars roll into town to celebrate the 10th Anniversary Put-in-Bay Vintage Sport Car Races. Two amazing days of wheel-to-wheel car racing at the airport, a car show and more. If you’re a car lover this event is not to be missed.
Put-in-Bay’s October is not shabby either. Save the dates for Island Wine Fest October 5th, 11-5pm at the Doller Estate; and Oktoberfest the 12th and 13th at DeRivera Park. The season wraps up with the “Wake,” October 20th, at the Round House and Halloween at the Bay on October 26th.
