South Bass Island Lighthouse weather station recorded a mild temperature of 39.7°F at 3pm. Out on Lake Erie, fishermen and water fowl absorbed the bright sunshine. The remainder of the week, according to NOAA, does not suggest anything like “wintry.”

A strong upper ridge over the central CONUS continues east for
Christmas Eve and Day and will support surface high pressure. This will keep the area dry. The main weather concern through the period will be a warm front that moves through the area by Wednesday. The forecast area will be in the warm sector for Christmas Day and temperatures will warm significantly. The recent trend in the medium range guidance is warmer with 850 mb temperatures trying to reach 10 degrees Celsius by midday Wednesday. With that, have slightly warmer temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the low to mid-50s for Wednesday.
