Winter Weather and Island Basketball Don’t Mix

Put in Bay School SportsPursuant to a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service, Put-in-Bay Panther Basketball for Saturday, 18 January 2020, is cancelled.  Coach Shuffenecker said, “The weather has not been kind this season, but we look forward to our next home game on Monday at 1pm versus Monclova Christian Academy.”

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS
EVENING TO 1 PM EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
  of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds
  gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Hancock, Seneca, Sandusky, Lucas, Ottawa, Wood and
  Wyandot counties.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will begin to move into the area this
  evening. The heaviest snow will fall tonight before becoming
  mixed with and changing over to freezing rain and sleet Saturday
  morning. The freezing rain and sleet should only last one to
  three hours before the it transitions to all rain as
  temperatures warm to near 40 degrees Saturday afternoon.
