Lake Erie Islands Conservancy is still taking tree and plant sale orders, but they would like to know if you plan on ordering in the next week.
Natives in Harmony is holding plants for LEIC orders. These will be released for sale if not needed. Normally, LEIC would have them available at the Island-wide Garage Sale, but it is uncertain if that will happen at this time.
The Conservancy uses Riverside Native Trees, Quail Ridge Native Trees, and Natives in Harmony for native tree and plant sales. Buying and planting native trees and shrubs is a great way to provide a quality habitat for the birds, butterflies, moths and other wildlife on the islands. LEIC promotes planting native trees and shrubs because our native animals have adapted to feeding on these plants and using them for shelter. By planting native species, you make your land more attractive to birds, bees, butterflies, moths and a host of other desirable pollinator species. Receipts from he sale of native trees and plants will be used to support the LEIC land preservation and restoration programs.
