The Boardwalk is happy to announce the season’s Tarpon Springs Shrimp on the Main Deck will take place on Thursday, 3 September 2020, from 5-7pm.
The finest Key West Pink Shrimp are served steaming hot with Feta cheese, olive oil, “Old Bay,” lemon, and butter on Pita bread. Dinner includes a Greek salad and Baklava for the low price of $20!
Nearly 85 percent of the pink shrimp harvested in the United States comes from the west coast of Florida. Prized for their sweet, tender meat, pink shrimp are caught fresh year-round.
About 40 years ago, while visiting Ken and Jane Turvey, a group of Islanders discovered Paul’s Shrimp House in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Paul was a Greek fisherman who had a unique recipe for serving up a plate of hot “peel and eat shrimp.” For several years afterwards, Paul’s Shrimp House became a frequent meeting place for Islanders traveling to Fort Meyers. On Wednesday, we will serve Paul’s original recipe in the same tradition as so many enjoyed it in the past.
