North Cape Yacht Club Fall Bay Regatta Faces Weather Challenge

North Cape Yacht Club’s annual George C. O’Connell Fall Bay Regatta, sponsored by Hooligans Irish Pub, encounters challenging conditions on Saturday, September 25, 2021.

The National Weather Service 651 AM EDT report says, “Main forecast concern for today is a cold and potent upper trough that will swing across the area this morning and afternoon. Timing remains fairly consistent from previous forecasts with rain along and with the cold front from around daybreak this morning to the early evening hours.

North Cape Yacht Club‘s marks for the courses are: Rattlesnake, Green, and Sugar Islands; North Bass buoy (RN2); and Middle Bass Island bell buoy (G1)–or temporary marks for windwardleeward course. There are three possible courses of varied lengths.
