Put-in-Bay – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) announced the Federal Aviation Administration is awarding $2,241,440 in funding from the Airport Infrastructure Grants program to six Northwest Ohio airports. The funding is being made available as a result of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which was signed into law in November. Rep. Kaptur and House Democrats strongly supported the bill, while 94 percent of House Republicans opposed it.
The funding from the Airport Infrastructure Grants program will allow Northwest Ohio airports to address a wide array of short and long-term infrastructure needs – including improvements to runways, taxiways, terminals, and airport-transit connections, as well as new safety and sustainability projects.
“President Biden’s jobs and infrastructure bill is already delivering for Northwest Ohio,” said Rep. Kaptur. “By investing in our airports, we are laying a strong foundation for our region’s economic growth.”
