Great Lakes Single-Handed Society to Race at Put-in-Bay

GLSS victor, Schock & All

The annual I-LYC Bayweek regatta, held at Put-in-Bay, will have a single-handed class for the first time this year.  Great Lakes Single-Handed (GLSS) ratings and scoring will be used, and participants in this class will have their own official start for a race around the Bass Islands each of the 3 days–August 5,6,7.

The Great Lakes Single-handed Society is an organization established for the perpetuation of the sport of solo sailing. It is one of the few organizations where no amount of money will purchase a membership – only by successfully completing a Port Huron to Mackinac, Chicago to Mackinac, Sault Ste. Marie to Duluth, the Lake Erie Solo Challenge, or the Lake Ontario 300 Solo Challenge is lifetime membership conveyed by the Society.
