The 2022 Great Lakes Islands Summit takes place October 2nd-5th, 2022 on the Lake Erie Islands. The event brings together 100+ island leaders, including: government officials, business and education representatives, and other island advocates to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with island living. Island residents are welcome to attend.
The annual summit also serves as the member meeting of the Great Lakes Islands Alliance (GLIA), a bi-national network of Great Lake island communities.
The Summit is jointly hosted by the Lake Erie Islands of Kelleys, Middle Bass, Pelee, and South Bass. South Bass Island (known as Put-in-Bay) is the anchor island for 2022. The agenda includes visiting five islands (the four previous ones listed plus Gibraltar Island) and discussing infrastructure, tourism, land conservation, and water quality issues. The $100 registration fee includes meals and all transportation between islands for the event.
