Panthers Volleyball Team Plays Hard for Win

The Put-in-Bay Panthers split a double header at Clyde on Monday.  The Panthers opened versus the home town Clyde Fliers.  The Panthers did not have a lot of practice time due to concert week at Put-in-Bay School.

The rust showed as the panthers were thoroughly defeated (4-25, 8-25).  The Panthers did not fair well in the first set against the South Central Trojans, losing 11-25.  Coach Schuffenecker called a timeout when the team was down 1-7 in the second game and challenged the players to win one set at a time.  The Panthers finally shook off the rust and found their groove.

Senior Macy Ladd stepped up to serve and swung the momentum to the Panthers.  Macy finished the last two sets with 9 aces and 6 kills.  The whole team made key plays and the Panthers won the final two sets 25-20 and 25-17.  The win moved the panthers record to 1-2.

There is little time to enjoy the win as the Panthers play Wednesday at Rodgers.   This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

Go Panthers! Get your growl on!
