Panther Volleyball Gets Workout vs. Waite

Students as “embarrassing community.”

Panther Volleyball set the crowd on fire Monday afternoon as the visiting Indians deliver strong competition.

Coach Schuffenecker’s guidance and encouragement keeps Panthers going right to the last seconds of game four, but the Panthers fall short in their comeback effort against Waite.

Put-in-Bay’s slow start proved costly:  the  team lost in four games (15-25, 25-14, 23-25, 27-29).

After a rocky ride to the island on a windy fall day, the Indians started off hot with an 8-0 lead.  Coach Schuffenecker knew his team could play better than the first game. They settled in and won the second game.  After the second game, both teams locked-in very entertaining volleyball.

The final two games were back and forth with neither team able to pull away.  At the end of the of games three and four Waite found a way to make a few more plays.

The effort was there for the Panthers.   Senior Lilian Frederick topped her kill mark from last Thursday and reset the school record with 21 kills. Macy Ladd also set a school record with 22 digs.

The Panthers look to rebound with their home final versus NOCA.

Get your growl on and cheer the Panthers!
