Panther volleyball finishes regular season with record breaking win!

The Panthers visited Jones leadership Mustangs Friday and came out with a 3-0 win (25-12, 25-14, 25-21).  The win gives the Panthers a school record ten wins in a season and it sets up the team for the OHSAA tournament.

The game started off fast for the Panthers. Senior captain Macy Ladd fired five straight aces.  The Panthers  started with a 9-0 lead and didn’t look back after that.  The whole team contributed, with every player recording an ace.  El Kostura and Ava Heineman each had 10 assists, and Macy and Lilian Frederick each had 11 kills.

Coach Schuffenecker is very proud of his team, saying, “This team faced adversity from the start of the season.  Instead of fearing it, they embraced it, grew from it and ultimately found success because of it. This team earned its success!”

The team will enjoy this win over the weekend, but they will get back to work on Monday.   The team opens the OHSAA tournament in the sectional finals vs. the winner of Toledo Christian/Gibsonburg.

The Panthers look to keep this magical season going–Great job ladies!
