The early, long-range weather prediction for “an unreasonably snowy, cold” Bass Islands winter has not materialized. As the late December 2022 ice breaks up in Put-in-Bay Harbor, the immediate NOAA weather report says,
“Temperatures will remain above normal through the short term period, with highs in the low 40s on Tuesday, to the mid 40s by Wednesday. Snow probabilities have increased slightly, with much of the snow-belt (primary and secondary) up to a 40-60% chance of 2″ or greater accumulation Friday through Saturday. High pressure builds back in by Sunday, with temperatures warming back up to above normal.”
The most recent seasonal outlook calls for above normal temperatures and precipitation. Bah Humbug!
