Panther boys fight hard, but they drop the first home game of the Panther Basketball Extravaganza versus the Horizon Jaguars. In a rare night game on South Bass Island, the Panthers lose 55-46.
The visiting Jaguars came out hot and built up a 21-4 lead at the end of the first. Coach Schuffenecker told his team to keep chipping away.
That is what the Panthers did–fighting back to bring the game score to 50-44 with 1:59 left in the second half. The Panthers just couldn’t overcome their slow start.
Kudos to Joe Byrnes, former Put-in-Bay School Panther, for his exceptional play-by-play announcing !
The Panther Basketball Extravaganza rematch happens tomorrow with tip-off at 9am. The boys game is followed by the junior high and girls games.
