Congratulations go to venerable Put-in-Bay Postmaster JR Domer for successfully completing his first solo flights aboard a Piper Cherokee 140 this evening!
JR completed the required 3-hours night flight a week ago after much study and training. This evening he did three solo take-offs and landings at Erie-Ottawa International Airport, Port Clinton (KPCW). He also did an arrival/departure at Put-in-Bay Airport (3w2) with cooperation from his flight instructor. His first words afterwards were, “That was my number one on my bucket list!”
Mr. Domer, a long-standing member and former Chief of the Put-in-Bay Volunteer Fire Department, is known for his enlivening spirit and enthusiastic attitude. Reaching the milestone of solo flight is on par for his determination to meet with success in his pursuit of an adventurous life.
