Put-in-Bay School volleyballers suffer defeat in Wood County.
The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Lions of Bowling Green Christian this evening. A slow start doomed the Panthers to lose the first set 25-7. However, the Panthers bounced back and played competitive volleyball in games two and three. The latter games, unfortunately, also were losses: 19-25 and 24-26.
Head Coach Schuffenecker said, “The team is young and needs to learn to how to be ready for the first tip off. We can’t dig ourselves a hole against good teams.” Leading the Panthers was El Kostura with 5 kills and 6 aces. The coaches, Shuffenecker and Pugh, look forward to practice time to improve form and communication. The Panthers next travel to Toledo to take on the Waite Indians. Game time is at 4:30pm on Thursday, 31 August 2023.
