Over one-hundred years ago the Steamer Put-in-Bay sailed regularly from Detroit to Put-in-Bay. At the end of each summer, traditionally Labor Day, Island residents gathered to wave goodbye to the last ferry of the season.
Miller Boat Line continues this remarkable event to honor the legacy of island tourism. This Monday evening, hundreds gathered at the Miller Boat Line Lime Kiln Dock to celebrate another historically significant day. Music by Ray Fogg and That Allie Girl, fireworks, friends gathering, a drone, and long blasts on the whistle aboard the modern-day MV Put-in-Bay created a spectacle worth remembering.
