Put-in-Bay School Panther Volleyball dominated off-island host Jaguars in a friendly match on Thursday evening.
Panthers rolled into the game on a two-game-losing streak and looked to right the ship. Coach Schuffenecker stressed getting back to basics:
- put the serves in play
- get into the flow of the game
The team did just that as senior Lyla Stiedl rattled off 10 points leading the Panthers to a 25-9 win in the first set. The remaining sets went 25-17 and 25-9. The Player of the match for the Panthers was junior Ava Heineman. Ava recorded a triple-double, 14 Kills, 15 aces, and 10 digs. Freshman Emma Michael recorded a personal record of 13 assists.
The win moves the Panthers to 3-2 on the year. A nice home stand is ahead for the team due to ferry scheduling.
The next game is versus the Jones Leadership Academy Mustangs at 5pm today in the Jim Poulos Recreation Center. See the schedule below for upcoming contests.
