Nature’s Fury Prevails

Put in Bay weather

“Do I have to?”

High winds, near-freezing temperatures, and scattered snow showers created unfriendly conditions on Lake Erie today.  South Bass Island Lighthouse weather readings, at 4pm, provide continuing evidence for Miller Boat Line’s suspension of trips.

West wind at 37 knots (42mph) with a gust at 41 knots (47mph); Air Temperature 33°F (0.5°C) with a wind chill of 17° (-8°C).

Conditions witnessed at The Boardwalk harbor and South Bass Island State Park underscored the effects of today’s weather: low water levels and furious waves.Put in Bay harborSouth Bass Island State ParkSouth Bass Island State ParkSouth Bass Island State Park
