Polar Vortex Blasts through Bass Islands, Closes School

Polar Vortex delivers!  At noon the South Bass Island Lighthouse station reports a west wind blowing at 27 knots (31 mph).  The air temperature is -5.8°F, and wind gusts up to 31 knots (35.6 mph) put the wind chill at -34.1°.

Put-in-Bay School will be closed for a second day on Thursday, 31 January 2019, according to Superintendent Steve Poe at 1:25pm.
