The Boardwalk Celebrates 40 Years with Throwback Lobster Bisque Pricing

A landmark anniversary is stirring up something special at Put-in-Bay this week. The Boardwalk, a staple of the island’s waterfront dining scene, is celebrating 40 years of service — and marking the occasion with a nostalgic nod to its roots.

For one day only, guests can enjoy The Boardwalk’s famous Lobster Bisque for just $4.95, the original price when the Main Deck first opened in 1985. The special runs Wednesday, June 11, from 12 PM to 6 PM, and is expected to draw a crowd of longtime fans, locals, and curious newcomers alike.

“Reaching 40 years is something we’re incredibly proud of,” said Eric Booker of The Boardwalk Family of Restaurants. “This is about celebrating the people who have supported us—from first-time visitors to those who return every summer—and sharing a taste of the tradition that helped define who we are.”

The Boardwalk team has been busy preparing for the event, crafting hundreds of servings of their signature bisque in anticipation of the turnout. What started as a casual dockside restaurant has grown into one of the most recognized destinations on South Bass Island, with multiple dining options, stunning lake views, and a loyal following that spans generations.

Whether you’re reliving a favorite memory or tasting the bisque for the first time, Wednesday offers a chance to celebrate four decades of island flavor and hospitality.
