Weenies & Tini’s Fundraiser to Support PIB Police K9 Officer
The community is coming together to support the Put-in-Bay Police Department’s effort to purchase a new K9 officer. On Thursday, August 21 from 4–7 p.m., the Dog House and Round House Bar will host a special fundraiser called “Weenies & Tini’s” on the Round House back patio.
The family-friendly event will feature food from the Dog House — including everything from classic hot dogs and Chicago dogs to corn dogs, nachos, and loaded fries — with a portion of all food sales going directly toward the K9 fund. Guests can also enjoy raffles, yard games, face painting for kids, and dog watercolor portraits created by local artist Celeste Mycoskie.
Some raffle baskets will even be pet-themed, offering animal lovers the chance to win dog-related prizes while supporting the cause.
The fundraiser carries special significance for island residents who remember K9 Officer Storm, handled by Officer Gary Allred during the 2024 season. Officer Allred, formerly with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, has since joined the PIB Police Department and brings his experience as a K9 handler to the effort of adding a new service dog to the island’s police force.
All ages are welcome — including dogs — making this an event for the entire community to show support while enjoying food, games, and fun.
