Panthers Storm Back To 3-2 Victory Over BG

Tuesday afternoon, the Put-in-Bay Panthers took on the BG Christian Lions in a rematch.  The Panthers dropped the first two sets but came back to win the last three sets to win the match 3-2.  The win moves the girls to 6-2 on the season.

Coach Schuffenecker said, “We never like to dig a 0-2 hole, but volleyball is unique in that we get to reset the score each set.  We settled in and played our volleyball and outlast a good BG team.”  The team lost earlier in the season to BG and it looked like it was going to happen again.

The Panthers lost sets one and two 25-17 and 25-16 respectively.  The team caught fire when Senior Lily Schwiezter made a big block and put the lions on the defense.  The team kept the pressure on the Lions and through great team play took the match.  Senior Ava Heineman broke the school record for digs in a match with 32 digs.  Great job Panthers!  The team looks to continue the win streak against the Horizon Science Jaguars Thursday at 4 pm in the Panther pit.

Go Panthers! Get your growl on!
