Put-in-Bay EMS, Police Conduct Joint Trauma Training Exercise
Emergency responders on South Bass Island participated in a joint trauma training exercise this week aimed at strengthening interdepartmental coordination during high-stress incidents.
According to Put-in-Bay EMS, EMTs and EMRs responded to a simulated officer-involved shooting and motor vehicle crash scenario. The training focused on real-time patient assessment, stabilization, and coordinated response between EMS and police personnel.
Put-in-Bay Police officers Gary Allred and Jason Simon assisted as simulated patients during the exercise. EMS officials also thanked Police Chief Mike Dillon for supporting collaboration between the departments.
EMS recognized the participation and support of Bree Reynolds, Nate Jones, Anne Auger, Andy Burns, Ashley Mann, Noah Kneisley, John Domer, and Greg Auger for contributing to the training exercise.
Joint training exercises such as this are designed to improve communication, efficiency, and preparedness — particularly important for island-based emergency services where coordinated response is critical.
No real injuries occurred during the exercise.
