Annual Blessing of the Fleet Celebrated Under Sunny Sky and Cool Breeze

Put-in-Bay’s Chamber of Commerce presented another meaningful moment in island history as the Annual Blessing of the Fleet took place on Tuesday, 6 May 2014.  Ty Winchester, Chamber President, and Nicole DeFreitas, Chamber Media Specialist, welcomed community members and clergy from the mainland as Mr. Eric Booker, from The Boardwalk Family of Restaurants, coordinated the Miller Ferry, Jet Express 3, Cantankerus, and assorted smaller boats–including representatives of the police and sheriff’s offices.  A dramatic fly by from the Lifeflight helicopter closed the ceremony as citizens enjoyed sugar cookies.
