Last Ferry Makes Memorable Departure

Miller Boat Line
Julene Market waves goodbye.

Under a rainy, fog-laden sky and the temperature hovering slightly above the freezing point, Miller Boat Line’s “William Market” headed to sea on its last run to the mainland for the 2014 post-season.  A returning boat was scheduled to leave the Catawba Dock at 4 p.m.  Hardy individuals, organized by Captain Russ Brohl, gathered at the Miller Marina to say bon voyage with favorite beverages and music.  Fireworks, several long blasts of the horn, and Wagner’s The Ride of the Valkyries (broadcast from the ferry!) put the exclamation mark on a festive scene.  Many thanks to all at Miller Boat Line for your dedication!
