New England FireFighter Visits Put-in-Bay
Retired New England firefighter, Mike Chipperini, publishes a YouTube channel dedicated to the Adventures of the RV Chipper’s Island. These adventures take place predominately in his 2023 Winnebago Travato. Two weeks ago Mr. Chipperini boarded the Jet Express Ferry with friends to visit South Bass Island.
In this 24-minute video he chronicles his tour of Put-in-Bay Village, during which he highlights mostly the street environment and the plentiful bars. Unfortunately, Mr. Chipperini fails to deliver information about the historical significance of Put-in-Bay, about the plentiful nature preserves, the unique landmarks like the South Bass Island Lighthouse or Perry’s Monument and International Peace Memorial.
It’s Mr. Chipperini’s loss and South Bass Island’s misfortune. PiBDaily provides the video to underscore the shallow nature of Island images frequently promoted to the world.
