Open Water Sighted Around Bass Islands

Wednesday’s near-blizzard conditions have cleared ice from the Southern Passage between Catawba and South Bass Island.  The channel between Middle Bass, Rattlesnake and South Bass Islands has open water with whitecaps.  The West Shore remains locked in with numerous ice fishing shanties still in place.
