Put-in-Bay Airport Terminal Cleared for New Construction
The old Put-in-Bay Airport Terminal is gone and temporary infrastructure is in place at 3w2, South Bass Island.
A $1,900,000 award to Put-In-Bay Airport to help modernize airport infrastructure was granted by the Federal Aviation Administration in February of 2023. The new, modern terminal facility will be an approximately 2,500 square feet, single-story building including a public area, baggage room, mechanical room, and two restrooms.
The old terminal was over 55 years old and served Griffing Airlines and Island Air Taxi, as well as private pilots, aviation tours (Ford Tri-Motor, helicopter, biplane), and LifeFlight Critical Care Transport.
