Put-in-Bay High School Graduate Earns Top Honor at Miami University
Maximilian Schneider, of Middle Bass Island and a 2019 graduate of Put-in-Bay High School, is the Graduation Student Speaker for Miami University College of Engineering and Computing on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
According to Miami University‘s Web site, “Maximilian is graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. In addition, as a member of the combined master’s/bachelor’s program, he is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Computer Science. His master’s thesis is about modeling and generating source code for Bluetooth Low Energy applications on embedded systems. He plans to graduate with his master’s degree in the spring of 2024.”
“While at Miami, Maximilian has worn many hats. He was a teaching assistant during the summer of 2020. Likewise, he served as a resident assistant in Morris Hall his sophomore and junior years. At the start of his senior year, Maximilian joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering’s Power Electronics Laboratory as a research assistant; his main role was as an embedded systems programmer. Back home, Maximilian spent many summers working as a deckhand aboard the Sonny-S ferry. Outside of work, Maximilian participated in many Make It Miami student panels. He was also a founding member of the student organization Green Gamers. During the summer of 2022, he studied abroad in Calabria, Italy.”
