Put-in-Bay Student Greets Sports Success

Put-in-Bay student Jacob Seaman greets sports success and finds himself in the wonderful spotlight of accomplishment.  Not only does Jacob perform superbly for the Put-in-Bay School Panther Basketball Team, he combines dance, agility, coordination and flexibility while manipulating a single baton or multiple batons in competitive twirling.

Jacob will twirl in Liverpool England August 4-8, 2023. He qualified for Junior Men’s Division for Nations Cup competition in Solo 1 baton, 2 Baton, 3 Baton and Artistic Twirl (dance twirl) at the International Baton Twirling Federation World Competition.

Jacob will compete against citizens from Japan, France, Italy, Norway, and England–just to name a few.  He qualified for this honor by placing in the top three in his age division at the National Baton Competition in Stockton, California last July.

He will again compete at Nationals in July 2023, in Orlando Florida.  Two weeks later he travels to England for a great opportunity to represent the USA.  This event is the Olympics of Baton Twirling.  Jacob has been practicing and participating in competitions since he was the age of three!

KC Seaman, Jacobs mother, reports the family continues to seek fundraising opportunities.  “Travel alone is very expensive–not to mention the ongoing competition fees and coaching expenses,”  she said.

Jacob loves to perform, and his enthusiasm and skill provide a real boon to the Put-in-Bay community.  Congratulations, Jacob!
