Put-in-Bay Township Park District Announces Duff Homestead Dedication

Put-in-Bay Township Park District is pleased to announce the dedication of the Duff Homestead and Bayfront Preserve at 630 Bayview Avenue on Saturday, August 3, at 1:00 PM. The dedication will be followed by light refreshments and a tour of the Duff home, visitor center, and offices.

At 2:30 a guided walk through the Duff vineyards will be held. The talk will concentrate on the Great Lakes Fruit Belt and micro-climates. A forested area, a birding trail, and a pollinator habitat area are located on the property.

Put-in-Bay Township Park District is working with its partners, the Lake Erie Islands Conservancy, to purchase the historic Duff vineyard, adjacent to the Duff Homestead and Bayfront Preserve. The goal is to maintain the vineyard as an educational site, stressing the historical importance of grapes to the Islands.
