Snow and Wind Create Island Winter Escapade for Work & Play

Severe weather conditions recorded at South Bass Island Lighthouse did not slow down island-wide activity on Saturday, 19 January 2014.  At 1 pm the air temperature was 22.8°F (-5.1°C), and a WSW (240°) wind clocked in at 33.0 knots (gusting to 36.9 knots).
