Stone Lab Monitors Algal and Water Quality at Put-in-Bay

Environmental researchers at Ohio State University’s Stone Laboratory, at Gibraltar Island, harness a sophisticated Lake Erie buoy “to identify plankton, measure chlorophyll content and cyanobacteria toxins; analyze organic and inorganic suspended solids, and test for nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen.”  Current, detailed information is published for the public on the Stone Lab Web site.  Examples of recent data are posted below.
