Stone Lab Monitors Algal and Water Quality at Put-in-Bay

Environmental researchers at Ohio State University’s Stone Laboratory, at Gibraltar Island, harness a sophisticated Lake Erie buoy “to identify plankton, measure chlorophyll content and cyanobacteria toxins; analyze organic and inorganic suspended solids, and test for nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen.” Current, detailed information is published for the public on the Stone Lab Web site.
