Woodward Polar Bears Put Freeze on Panther Volleyball

Panther Volleyball players drop close match against the Woodward Polar Bears on Tuesday afternoon at the Jim Poulos Recreation Center in Put-in-Bay.
One day after an emotional come-from-behind victory, the Panthers fall short in four sets. The loss moves the team’s record to 7 wins and 6 losses. Coach Schuffenecker said, “ Our team came out and lost the first set again, and we didn’t play our best volleyball.” The team responded by winning the second set. The game was decided when, in the third set the teams stood tied 22-22, but he Polar Bears put on the freeze and won. After that, Polar Bears cruised to victory in the fourth set.
El Kostura led the team with 12 aces and 7 kills; Elora Hubner scored 10 aces and 7 assists. The Lady Panthers will close out the season on the road against Jones Leadership Academy on Friday, 6 October 2023.
